Stoneacre Academy scoops accolade at the AM Awards 2017

One of the biggest nights in the motor retailing calendar took place recently, at the ICC in Birmingham – the Automotive Management Awards.

A panel of eight judges, including AM editor Tim Rose and editor-in-chief Stephen Briers, chaired by Christopher Macgowan OBE decided on their choices for the categories last month from the car dealers looking to take home the titles, 22 of them were up for grabs on the night.

Stoneacre Motor Group were absolutely delighted to take home the Best Training and Development Programme award, with Stoneacre Academy beating the likes of CarShop, Wight Motors and Volkswagen Passenger Cars. With the group putting so much time and belief into our stand-out training programmes and practices it was fantastic for that to be recognised with this award.

Although we have been offering young people apprenticeships for over four years, The Academy was launched in May 2015 after recruiting and training our staff, to become a fully accredited school. We passed rigorous due diligence to achieve this and therefore we are the only independent motor company to have its own dedicated, OFSTED regulated Further Education School, passing all regulations in line with Common Inspectors Framework of Further Education and Skills.

With our bespoke apprenticeships and structured training programmes, we increase knowledge, improve skills and develop performance to support individuals in achieving their goals.

Managing Director Shaun Foweather was delighted to see us top the Best Training and Development Programme list. He said: “Winning this award is an acknowledgement of our Industry Leading Training Academy. We offer sustainable and life-changing learning opportunities, giving our employees a CAREER FOR LIFE. We are extremely proud that this has been recognised and that we have won the Automotive Management Award for Best Training and Development programme.”

We cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store for The Academy and its students.
